What is a Director of Studies?

A Director of Studies is someone who is deeply knowledgeable about one or more areas of study, and your Director of Studies is the most important person when it comes to your education with EDeeU.

At EDeeU Education we don’t define exactly what your relationship with your Director of Studies looks like. Sometimes Directors of Studies meet formally with their students on a regular basis, say once a week or once a fortnight, whereas others take a more relaxed approach, meeting as and when necessary and keeping in touch via phone calls and text and picture messages. Some Directors of Studies work through a long-term curriculum with their students, while others allow the curriculum to invent itself over time. The only thing that all Directors of Studies have in common is that they will do their best to help you get where you want to go. Learning is a messy and collaborative activity, and by not micro-managing the way you work with your Director of Studies, we believe we’re giving you and your Director of Studies the best chance of figuring out how to make the best possible use of your time in a way that’s right for you.

If you’re curious about whether having a Director of Studies could be right for you, the best thing is to fill out our application form and get started. Our “no lock-in” policy means that if you get started on a Monday, and on Tuesday decide it’s not for you, you only pay for one day. You are never committed to staying with your Director of Studies a moment longer than you want to.
